Industrial Garment Care Pty Ltd (ABN 97 701 288 913, ACN 701 288 913) is committed to protecting the privacy of the people we deal with. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to personal information we collect about customers, prospective customers, site contacts, suppliers, job applicants and visitors to industrialgarmentcaretec.site. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Industrial Garment Care Pty Ltd.

"Personal information" has the meaning given in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth): information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether or not the information is true and whether or not it is recorded in a material form.

2. What personal information we collect

We collect only the information we need to quote for, deliver and administer our garment services. Depending on your dealings with us, that may include:

  • Contact details — your name, business name, position, email address, postal address and any telephone number you choose to give us.
  • Service information — site addresses, collection and delivery instructions, garment types, wearer names or identifiers used to tag garments, and garment allocation records.
  • Account and billing information — purchase order references, billing contacts, invoices and payment records.
  • Correspondence — enquiries, quotes, service requests, complaints and the records of our responses.
  • Technical information — limited information about your visit to our website, as described in section 6.

We do not seek sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we ask that you do not send it to us unless it is genuinely necessary for a service we provide.

3. How we collect personal information

Wherever it is reasonable and practicable to do so, we collect personal information directly from you. That usually happens when you:

  • email us at [email protected] or use the enquiry form on our Contact page;
  • request a quote, agree a service program or set up an account with us;
  • give us garment and wearer details so that items can be tagged and returned correctly; or
  • correspond with us about an existing service.

Where an employer arranges a garment service on behalf of its workers, we may receive wearer names or identifiers from that employer rather than from the individual. In those cases we rely on the employer to have told its workers that their details will be provided to us for that purpose.

4. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose it

We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for the following purposes:

  • preparing quotes and responding to enquiries;
  • arranging, delivering and administering garment laundering, inspection, repair and exchange services;
  • tagging garments and returning them to the correct wearer or site;
  • invoicing, collecting payment and maintaining our business records;
  • handling complaints, disputes and service issues;
  • maintaining the security and integrity of our systems; and
  • complying with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not use personal information for direct marketing without your consent, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.

5. Who we disclose information to

We may disclose personal information to:

  • our employees and contractors, where they need it to perform their duties;
  • service providers who support our business, such as transport, information technology, accounting and payment providers;
  • your employer or the party who engaged us, where the information relates to a garment program they administer;
  • our professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants and insurers; and
  • a court, tribunal, regulator or government agency, where we are required or authorised by law to do so.

We require our service providers to handle personal information consistently with this policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Overseas disclosure

We aim to keep personal information in Australia. Some of the software providers we use to run our business may store data on servers located overseas. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you would like to know which countries are involved, contact us at [email protected].

6. Cookies and our website

Our website is a static website. It does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, analytics scripts or third-party embedded content, and it does not build a profile of you.

Our hosting provider records standard server information for security and reliability purposes, which may include your IP address, the date and time of your request, the page requested and your browser type. We do not use this information to identify you.

The enquiry form on our Contact page opens a message in your own email application. Nothing you type into that form is transmitted to us, or to anyone else, unless you choose to send the email.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Doing so will not affect how this website works.

7. Storage, security and quality

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include restricting access to our records, using access controls and passwords on our systems, and securely destroying or de-identifying records we no longer need.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Email in particular is not a secure medium, so please consider what you send us by email.

We take reasonable steps to ensure the personal information we hold is accurate, up to date, complete, relevant and not misleading. Please tell us if your details change.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as we are required to keep it by law — including record-keeping obligations under Australian tax and corporations legislation. When information is no longer needed and we are not required to retain it, we destroy it or de-identify it.

9. Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Send your request to [email protected].

We will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity before we release information. There is no fee for making a request, although we may charge a reasonable fee for the cost of giving access where a request is substantial. If we refuse access or a correction, we will tell you why in writing and explain how you can complain.

10. Making a complaint

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at [email protected] with the details of your concern. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and respond to you in writing within a reasonable period.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), which is the independent regulator for privacy in Australia. The OAIC can be contacted through its website at oaic.gov.au, by post at GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001, or by telephone on 1300 363 992.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated. Material changes will take effect when they are published here.
